In Times of an Unknown Future, Let Synchronicity Be Your Guide!

As Corona Virus demands change, a transforming culture grant us permission to be who we never thought we would be. Photo by Mackenzie Andersen of  Pelican sculpture by Weston and Brenda Andersen for Andersen Desig n I awoke in the morning in an instance that dreaming becomes consciousness, a transition as elusive to detect as that precise moment when night becomes dawn. I was travelling in my dream on the main road out of town passing through the point where the Harbor becomes Boothbay. On the side of the road, I saw a sign that said “Learn Farm”, crafted on a wooden board painted with weathered white paint, and written in Times New Roman font. A frame around the words lent the sign traditionally old fashioned flair.  In dream word play, the message is its new but its old. Times, New Roman, correlating with to my concept of a twenty-first century cottage industry , a network of businesses in residence, pre-industrial culture resurrected for a world evolving toward smaller, autonom

First Mugs from New Molds In- Many Beautiful Seconds Available While They last !

ORDER SECONDS IN STOCK HERE    OR Place Your Orders for Firsts – Soon HERE Tweet This!  http://goo.gl/5twfgu The mugs shown in this image have been decorated by myself, Mackenzie Andersen. This is the first time that I have ever done the Brown Tree  Motif as production decorating. That is to say I sat down and did a group of twenty mugs in one session. Production decorating is like doing a performance. It requires confidence in one’s natural and spontaneous style of working with a brush. One has to accept one’s self, enjoy one’s self and to be non-judgmental but one can observe oneself. The first thought that came to mind as I commenced the performance is that I want to channel my Mother, Brenda. Brenda had exceptional vitality in the way that she exercised the paint brush. Sometimes her work was expressionistic and at other times it was controlled without being in the least bit tight – as if she had perfect integration between mind and body, between what she was observing

Tweet This!  http://goo.gl/xtojiu Introducing  the newly created Andersen Design website. I It is in its bare bones state today but that will be changing over time. Alpha & Omega the Becoming of Andersen Ceramics into The Great American Ceramic Artists Designers Craftsmen Network Andersen Design is the wholesale and production entity for Andersen Ceramics. Andersen Studio is our retail and design entity. Andersen Ceramics  is a family business which was established by my parents , Weston & Brenda Andersen in 1952.- well actually it started in Ohio in 1951 but my parents knew they couldn't keep doing production in the Levitt style home which Dad had acquired with a veteran's loan and so they moved to Maine in 1952 to become the first ceramic enterprise on the Boothbay Peninsula - soon to have a cluster industry sprout up around the area, which still exists today. Eagle Sculpture In The Works As I launch Crowdfunder For Mold project For Tufted Titmouse

This is the Tufted Titmouse that I completed in the wax phase over a year ago. I am still waiting indefinitely for a mold to be made on premises and so now I have decided to launch a crowd-funding project to capitalize contracting with an outside production to have this mold made. The Eagle sculpture you see below is a sculpture in the works. The sculpture is not completed but is getting there. If I run a successful crowd funding project- one that goes over my goal, the additional capital will be used to go toward a mold made for the Eagle. I will post here when the crowdfunder project is launched.
