Deconstructing Centralization Requires So Many Butterflies! Part One

One of a Kind Bowl by Weston Neil Andersen Early Fifties or Late Forties . The bowl appears to be thrown suggesting that Weston may have created it when he was in Ohio. It is decorated in a wonderfully organic abstract pattern, identifying the decorator as Weston, rather than Brenda. The white rim on the outside of the bowl is uneven giving the work a humanistic appeal .The pattern is intuitive taking on a resemblance to a hieroglyphic alphabet arising from the personal sub conscience of the creator. Story narrated by Susan Mackenzie Andersen Introduction Andersen Design is not only the products which we make, we are also a brand. Brands become characters in our collective drama. The persona played out by the Andersen Design brand in the national and global drama is that of natural American individualism. free enterprise, and microeconomics. These traits are written into our history but what does that mean in today's world ? and why does it matter if the Andersen Design ...

Hand Making Ceramics in the USA, The Medium is still the Message

This post is republished from my blog, Preserving the American Political Philosophy . Mug by Weston, Face by Brenda (c) andersendesign 1955 "This, is not a soup!"   by  Lou Ect  is licensed under  CC BY-NC-ND 2.0    "Smiley"   by  mag3737  is licensed under  CC BY-NC-SA 2.0  I was raised in a ceramic business in the home, which was different from its surroundings, making myself and my siblings, outsiders inside the classroom environment. When school closed and summer commenced, an alternate reality emerged, a world in which my family's art was sought after by a wide range of humanity. I felt welcomed by the foreigners and an outsider among local peers. Later when I left home for  NYC, circa 1966, I found myself surrounded by welcoming peers, a difference between night and day. It was New York City at the pinnacle of the flower power era when Greenwich Village was wall-to wall youth culture As you can imagine this form...

Eagle Sculpture In The Works As I launch Crowdfunder For Mold project For Tufted Titmouse

This is the Tufted Titmouse that I completed in the wax phase over a year ago. I am still waiting indefinitely for a mold to be made on premises and so now I have decided to launch a crowd-funding project to capitalize contracting with an outside production to have this mold made. The Eagle sculpture you see below is a sculpture in the works. The sculpture is not completed but is getting there. If I run a successful crowd funding project- one that goes over my goal, the additional capital will be used to go toward a mold made for the Eagle. I will post here when the crowdfunder project is launched.

Taylor Swifting The Dogma in Farenheit 2013

Definition of Taylor Swifting 1 a : fearlessly using one's life experiences in a song, a blog, or whatever.... b : individualism c : a point of view or tenet put forth as in a personalized narrative This week many events occurred that culminated in changing the name of this blog to Andersen Studio Evolution Diaries, inspired by words said by Russel Smith from SCORE with whom we met yesterday. Russ said many businesses die off because they fail to evolve and so this blog has just evolved from being KickStarter Diaries to being about a more diverse concept of evolution. This is the moment when we let go of everything and toss it all up into the air and see where it all lands. The hardest thing to let go of is The Great American Ceramic Artist Designers Network , but I do so as an act of faith in that if it is meant to be, it will fall into its place in the new order that forms when the cards fall to the ground. I was pondering doing another KickSt...

Andersen Studio's Preview Video of Our upcoming Kickstarter Mold making Project

Greetings after a long break. I have completed my first animated video for our Kickstarter project. which I am currently publishing as a preview. I wanted to embed it here so that it instantly displays- which is supposedly as easy as inserting any other image- except one uses the video function- but alas, Blogger keeps rejecting my fla file. And so for the meantime , i have published it as a web page which you can view by clicking Andersen Studio's Preview of Our Upcoming Kickstarter Project. http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/2Q2dX9/www.andersenstudio.com/Flash/Andersen_Studio_Kickstarter.html?sthash.Tt35slCX.qmqDOqCB.tupo I hope you will enjoy the video and SHARE it to help us spread the word around since the success of our project depends on the base that we are able to reach. Thanks for your support. Mackenzie
